Covelong / Kovalam is an costal town in Chennai city, which is located in ECR(East Coast Road) enrooted between Chennai to Mahabalipuram. Kovalam is exactly located from 40km South from Chennai city. Kovalam is a fishing village, its once was an port town developed by a private organization Ostend company, and now Kovalam is a small town comes under Chengalpattu District which is located in between the coastal region of Bay Of Bengal & backwater canal namely The Buckingham Canal & around 1km from the small town Thiruvidanthai , and particularly the West river side of Buckingham canal is Kelambakkam & East river side is Kovalam and in between the two sub regions and junction of Buckingham canal and back water stuff the Muttukadu Boating Spot is Located

 

Blue Flag Beach

Blue flag beaches are the certified marines / beaches, that shows the standard of the area! & yes Chennai has its own blue flag beach and its Kovalam

Still now India has 12 blue flag beaches and one in Tamil Nadu

In 23rd Sep 2021 The Hindu Newspaper officially published that Kovalam Beach has been promoted as The Blue Flag Beach

There is no direct for beach, one you have to go on ur own vehicle else take a bus to kovalam and have a walk around 10 to 15 mins

Its a simple beach! but here they allow for surfing and it look amaze like a private beach full of grasses

and rocks.

Only MTC buses are avail in these region...
Also few express buses too have stops here...

109 from broadway , 109ct from adayar , 109T from thiruvetriyur, 515k from pallavaram, 588 from thiruvanmiur.
