Chennai Rail Museum, one of the most exiting place in Chennai especially for kids . 

Entry ticket Rs:50 with complementary tea and with a wonderful toy train ride

Inbuilt art gallery and with regular stuffs like other museums  (subject on trains)

Regular vintage model of trains (Made in ICF factory)

ICF = Integral Coach Factory 

You can have a ride on 47,47A from Besent Nagar,Thiruvaanmiur (en-route via Guindy, T-nagar)

and 20 from Chennai Central (Dr.MGR central station) else take sub-urban to villivaakam (Trains to Aavadi, pattibaram has a platform here) Also you need to have a walk to Chennai rail Museum from both villivaakam bus-terminal and Villivaakam railway station

    Opened for public from 16th April 2002. It adjoin the Furnishing Division of the Integral Coach Factory, which is the oldest and leading rail coach manufacturer in India 

This is an example showcase of the model engine from the art gallery. 

There are more integral coach model of many vintage models and exported coaches from India. Ex to Uganda, Sri Lanka etc...
