 VALLUVAR KOTTAM !


Valluvar Kottam , is one of the dedicated monument to the THIRUVALLUVAR , its located in Nungambakkam Chennai , 

The monument consist of replica of the famous THIRUVARUR CHARRIOT
which is consider as the one of the oldest chariot in Asia, the chariot is made up of  3000 blocks of granite stone from thiruvannamalai weigh about 2700 tons. A statue of valluvar has been installed in the chariot

Also the monument consist of an auditorium where all the 1330 thirukural has been inscribed here.
It was build in the year 1976 , executed by the chief minister M.Karunanidhi  
The most unique feature of this monument is, it stands without the basement and pillars

Entry fee in valluvar kottam is Rs10 per person during the fest time boo fairs will be condected inside the mahall, 1st floor of the mahall has the 1330 thirukural which was inscribed in the pillars





 Back to the mahall the most famous replica of the thiruvarur chariot has been here, where valluvar statue has been installed in the chariot
